In May at the 22nd Annual TOP COPS award dinner in Washington, DC, Lt. Alan Hedgepeth, a twenty-six-year veteran of the Henderson Police Department, will receive the prestigious Honorable Mention Award from the National Association of Police Organizations.  Along with members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Lt. Hedgepeth led a lengthy and intense investigative operation that concluded in the summer of 2014 and resulted in the arrest and conviction of nearly forty “MGM” (Money Gang Mob) members and/or associates.

Mayor O’Geary and City Council Members are extremely proud of Lt. Hedgepeth for leading this investigation.  His efforts reduced violent crime and made Henderson a safer place in which to live.
