Trail of Terror
SOCIAL DISTANCING TRAIL OR TERROR

The Henderson-Vance Recreation & Parks Department will be hosting a Trail of Terror Drive Thru at King Daughter I Park (600 West Montgomery Street, Henderson) from 6:30pm-9:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Trick or Treat Social Distancing
Social Distancing Trick or Treat Bags

The Henderson Vance Recreation & Parks Department will be hosting Trick or Treat Social Distancing on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.  The first 50 participants must meet the following requirements to receive a FREE Trick or Treat bag of goodies at their home: 12 years old or under, live in Vance County and sign up by Friday, October 16, 2020 by 12:00pm.  There is no cost to participate but participants must complete a program evaluation after the event.  To register, please contact Crystal Allen at 252.431.6091 (callen@ci.henderson.nc.us) or through Facebook Messenger on the Henderson Vance Special Programs page.

2nd Annual Pumpkin Splash
2020 Pumpkin Splash
Come join Henderson-Vance Recreation & Parks Department for our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Splash on Monday, October 26, 2020, 4:00pm-8:00pm!!!  Participants ages 17 and under will be able to pick out the perfect pumpkin from the pool and then receive a goodie bag to take home. GOLDEN AGE CLUB

Arthritis Exercise Class
Arthritis Exercise Class Sept-Nov 2020

Arthritis Exercise Class are held on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning September 23-November 4, 2020, 2:30pm-3:30pm This is a FREE low-impact, joint safe program developed for people with arthritis. This class has been proven to decrease pain and stiffness while increasing flexibility and range of motion. This class is also suitable for every fitness level.  Join us by logging on to Facebook Live on the Henderson Vance Special Programs page or at Aycock Recreation Center.  Participants must preregister to participate at Aycock Recreation Center. REGION K SENIOR GAMES
The Recreation Department serves as the Vance County host for Region K Senior Games. Each Spring two days of games will be held in Vance County. Seniors age 50 and older can enjoy cornhole, table tennis, croquet, and badminton at the Aycock Recreation Center. Registration forms can be picked up at the Vance County Senior Center. VANCE COUNTY VIPs
Recreation activities are offered for area residents who have a visual impairment. The department offers a variety of monthly activities that include athletic programs, trips, support group meetings, family outings and special events. Average attendance for the group is 15. VANCE COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics strives to provide children and adults with intellectual disabilities hope for a healthier, longer, and more fulfilling life through sports training and competition that keeps them engaged in regular physical activity within a structured peer network. D.R.E.A.M  – Diverse Roles in Entertainment Arts and Music

The Henderson-Vance Recreation and Parks Department’s D.R.E.A.M  – Diverse Roles in Entertainment Arts and Music is a program that was developed to offer a widespread performing arts program that uses numerous instructional approaches in all aspects of entertainment for ages of 5-17. Participants may take up to two disciplines per session. These disciplines may include step, music, dance, modeling as well as production of these disciplines. Participants will showcase these acquired skills in a final performance after each session has been completed. These participants practice every Wednesday 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. and even more to prepare for performances at the Aycock Recreation Center. 

Queen of Diamonds is under the D.R.E.A.M program with the Henderson-Vance Recreation & Parks Department.
